The Networking Curriculum Support CD has been produced by the Victorian Information Technology Teachers Association to assist in providing teachers (and their students) with an understanding of the main concepts in the field of data communications and networking.
It is designed as a browser based content source with accompanying web links, worksheets, classroom activities and interactive quizzes. The reference material can be accessed from the menu on the left the additional resources can be found in the menus on the right. You might also find the Site Map useful to locate a particular topic of interest.
In producing this resource the writers were aware that 'nothing stays the same' in IT for very long, so you will find a CD updates link which will take you to the VITTA Networking CD web site. This site is intended to be a dynamic repository for new links, content, activities and sample solutions to worksheets as they become available.
Before accessing this resource users should ensure they have read the Copyright Notice

System Requirements
Worksheet Word Documents: Require Microsoft Word 95 or later.
Animations and Quizzes: require a shockwave plugin of version 6 or later. To Download the latest version of Flash go to http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/
NetCD interface: requires a Version 5 (or later) web browser. It is best viewed full screen at 800 x 600 screen resolution or higher. There is also an alternative interface for older browsers such as Netscape 4.x and Internet Explorer 4.x.
The rational behind two distinct designs is this: We have stated that the CD supports older browsers (Version 4 and above), therefore the CD must function in versions of netscape and internet explorer that do not support style sheets. However as this CD goes to press in late 2003, many users will be using more advanced web browsers, and more are likely to be upgrading in the near future. Relying on a design that supports the older browsers limits the possibilities of using modern HTML standards such as style sheets, and limits the future accessibility of the CD as browsers increasingly conform to these standards.
