Servicing Work stations

When a network covers a great deal of physical space, it can be difficult for support staff to actually visit each person in the organisation when there are problems. There are programs that will allow a network administrator to access a user’s computer from their own workstation and watch what the user is doing to cause the problem or to search the computer’s hard drive for incorrect configurations or installations. Moreover, support staff can take control of a remote computer and operate it as if they were sitting at the keyboard themselves. This remote access is also available via the Internet using a variety of methods; some of which are more secure than others.
