Tree Topology

The tree topology is a combination of bus and star topologies. Simply put, it looks like a tree — the bus is the tree’s trunk and the star forms its branches. They are very common in larger networks. A typical scenario is: a single cable from a file server leads to a 24 port switch. Many cables branch from this switch to the computers in the computer room. In a large network, there would be several such "trees" branching from the server to different rooms full of computers.
