Security
The reality is that while networks provide easy and remote access to data and devices for many simultaneous users, they also present a large range of security concerns. Just as it is easy for an authorised user to access important data, it can be just as easy for a hacker to deliberately steal, delete or copy this important data. Unfortunately, without proper precautions, it can also be very easy for data to be accidentally lost. A security breach, whether deliberate or accidental, can have disastrous consequences for an organisation.
It is for this reason that organisations use a variety of methods to protect the data, or recover lost data, especially when it is stored on a network.
